* Noble Corporation’s shares jumped more than 5% in late trading on word the oil-drilling firm’s stock will replace QLogic Corporation on the SP 500 Index as of January 14th, 2011.

* Cliff’s Natural Resources saw its shares slip more than 1% after hours on word the mining and natural resource company is buying Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines Ltd. for $4.95 billion

* MySpace slashes its workforce. The Yoga Pants struggling music and entertainment site cut about 500 employees, or about half its staff worldwide. CEO Mike Jones says it was tough Lululemon yoga Pants, but necessary, to make the company more nimble.
